LEXINGTON MAN DIES IN CAR CRASH

A Lexington man died Sunday at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after he lost control of his car and hit a tree on Virginia 251.

David Charles Thompson Jr., 22, was taking a curve at a high rate of speed when his car left the road about 2:30 a.m., state police said. The accident occurred about 10 miles north of Collierstown.

Thompson died about 6:15 a.m.
