VOLUNTEER BALL TO OPEN FITZPATRICK HALL

``Jumpin' at Jefferson,'' the Roanoke Symphony Volunteer Association's 1996 ball on March 30, will be the grand-opening event in the new Fitzpatrick Hall at The Jefferson Center, Roanoke.

The dinner-dance will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The Symphony Ball is a major fund-raising event for the Roanoke Youth Symphony and its programs for students.

The event also celebrates the formal opening of Fitzpatrick Hall, named to honor Judge Beverly Fitzpatrick, chairman of the Jefferson Center Foundation and the individual credited with having been the inspiration behind efforts to save the former school from demolition.

Baby Huey and the Babysitters, who performed at a party in Washington for President and Mrs. Clinton, will perform. A cocktail reception before the main ball will include music from youth symphony members.
