AROUND NEW RIVER LIBRARY BRANCH CLOSING FOR MOVE THE BLACKSBURG BRANCH OF THE MONTGOMERY-FLOYD REGIONAL LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED FOR TWO WEEKS, BEGINNING THE WEEK OF FEB. 19. THAT'S WHEN THE STAFF PLANS TO MOVE TO THE NEWLY RENOVATED AREA OF THE LIBRARY.

All materials checked out between Jan. 29 and Feb. 18 will have a loan period of seven weeks.

The staff is urging the public to check out plenty of books so there will be fewer to move during that two-week period.

Valentine luncheon at arts center

The Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley will host a Valentine Luncheon on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the center's annex at 44 Fourth St. in Pulaski.

The meal and entertainment will begin at noon.

Tables, food and entertainment all will be prepared in celebration of Valentine's Day.

Parenting seminar scheduled Feb. 15

A parenting seminar will be held on Feb. 15 on "Budgeting the Household Dollar." The speaker will be Ruth Lytton, associate professor of resource management at Virginia Tech.

Lytton will speak from noon to 1 p.m. at 404 Clay St. in Blacksburg. Those attending can bring their lunch.

There is no fee for this seminar, but call 231-3213 to register.
