Former Cave Spring High School star Tiki Barber was one of six University of Virginia players named to the 1995 ACC All-Academic Football Team on Tuesday. The junior running back, who is majoring in commerce, has a cumulative 3.33 grade-point average.
Also named to the offensive squad were: wide receiver Patrick Jeffers, who had a 3.5 in psychology; offensive lineman Jason Augustino, who had a 3.33 in professional development; and Chris Harrison, who had a 4.0 in education/social foundations.
On the defensive squad, defensive lineman Jon Harris had a 3.2 in psychology and linebacker Jamie Sharper finished the semester with a 3.15 in psychology.

Virginia Tech's Bill Roth has been selected Virginia's Sportscaster of the Year. Roth has handled play-by-play for all Virginia Tech football and basketball games for the past eight years. He also has played host to the weekly radio call-in shows and televisions shows which feature Tech football coach Frank Beamer and basketball coach Bill Foster.
Roth will join other state winners, national winners and Hall of Fame inductees at the Sportscasters and Sportswriters Awards Program April 27-29 in Salisbury, N.C.
Joining Roth as an honoree from Virginia will be Jim Ducibella of The Virginian-Pilot & Ledger Star, who was chosen as Virginia's Sportswriter of the Year.
