CATHOLIC RALLIES TO WIN

Roanoke Catholic overcame a 16-point deficit after three quarters to defeat Holy Cross 62-60 on Saturday in a Virginia Independent Conference boys' basketball game in Lynchburg.

Roanoke Catholic (4-11 overall, 3-6 conference) trailed by 11 points at the half. Brendan McCarthy led all scorers with 21.

Chris Lothes added 16 points for the Celtics. Chad Wall scored all of his eight points in the fourth quarter and McCarthy scored eight points in the final stanza as well.

John Bumgarner scored 14 points for the Gaels (6-15, 5-7). Garth Calhoun added 13 points.
