Aimee Beightol, a freshman guard for Randolph-Macon, had a happy homecoming Sunday at Roanoke College's Bast Center.
The Cave Spring graduate scored 20 points and had seven rebounds and seven assists to lead the Yellow Jackets to an 86-79 victory over the Maroons in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's basketball game.
Beightol made six of 14 field-goal attempts and was 8-of-10 from the free-throw line as Randolph-Macon solidified its hold on first place in the ODAC, improving to 21-1 overall and 17-1 in league play.
Allison Beightol, Aimee's twin sister, added seven points, four rebounds and two assists for the Yellow Jackets.
Randolph-Macon's Jenn Kohler led all scorers with 21 points.
Amy Athey paced Roanoke (18-4, 16-3) with 18 points and Lori Boyd had 17.
The Maroons pulled to 72-70 with 2:40 left, but Kohler made several free throws down the stretch to hold off Roanoke.
Randolph-Macon's only loss this season came to Roanoke last month in Ashland.
