ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

A flurry of activity in building permits, has given the year a kick-start in the Roanoke Valley. Last month's $13,650,462 in permit values included $5.2 million in Salem, $4.4 million in Roanoke County and $4 million in Roanoke City.

Salem's permits included $3.2 million for a new Radisson Hotel near Columbia Lewis-Gale Hospital. Roanoke County showed 19 single-family homes and $1.1 million for a new building at the LancerLot sports complex in Vinton. The Roanoke permits included a new development of condominiums.
