CARTER, Flossie Katherine (Fields), 99, of Pulaski, died Monday, February 12, 1996 in the Pulaski Health Care Center in Pulaski, Va. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Thomas Carter, and two sons, Malcolm Carter and Charles Carter. Survivors include one daughter, Ms. Elizabeth Hill, Pulaski; one son, Mr. Blake Carter, Pulaski; two daug hters-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Carter, Saltville, Mrs. Doris Carter, Pulaski; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. COX, Mildred S., 87, of Penn Court Apts., Independence, formerly of the Gold Hill Community, passed away Sunday, February 11, 1996. She was the widow of Oscar Cox. She was born September 5, 1908 at Akron, Ohio to Charles A. Siders and Emma Schlabach Siders. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Aileen Cox, Rt. 3, Independence, Lena Cox Caudell, Kennett Square, Penn.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence, Va. Interment in Gold Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Fred B. Jennings officiating. Survivors include one son, James (Elizabeth) Emmons; one daughter, Madaline Daniels, all of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Carrie Nickson, Columbus, Ohio; cousins, Elwood Smith, Crew, Ellen Madison, Baltimore, Md.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. GRIFFIS, Cordell Adam, 5 months, of Henry, died Sunday, February 11, 1996, in a Roanoke hospital. Surviving are his parents, Robin R,. HARLESS, Clarence Kelley, 89, of Pearisburg, died Tuesday, February 13, 1996 at his home. Mr. Harless was born on September 20, 1906 in Giles County, Va. and was a son of the late Everett W. and Talitha Carbaugh Harless. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Weiss Harless. Mr. Harless retired from the N & W Railroad in 1975 with 50 years service. He is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil and Charlotte Harless of Williston, S.C., James and Helen Harless of Radford, Douglas (Mac) Harless, Dublin, William (Bill) and Betty Harless of Pearisburg, Marshall and Mary Harless of Dublin; four daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Donald Stafford of Radford, Betty and James Roberts of Pearisburg, Patsy and Bob Bruce of Christiansburg, Diane and Scott Fewell of Dublin; 18 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a friend and special caregiver, Christine St.Clair. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 16, 1996 at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Carl Rouintree officiating, with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, Va. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Givens Funeral Home.

HARNER, Floy Repass, 92, of Ceres, Va., died Su nday, February 11, 1996 in Decatur, Georgia. She was born in Bland County, the daughter of the late L. Digby and Delia Baumgardner Repass. She was a member of The Bethany United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband W. R. Harner, two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Hope McMechen, Decatur, Ga., Mrs. Norma Rush, Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Vivian Cooper, Broadford, Va., Mrs. Shirley Bishop, Warsaw, Va., Mrs. Janice Guynn, Woodbine, Md., Mrs. Gilda Countiss, Abingdon, Va.; a son, Max Harner, Milwauke, Wis.; twenty-three grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 15, 1996 at 2:00 p.m. at The Bethany United Methodist Church, Ceres, Va. with the Rev. Dale Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in The Bethany Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Newberry Funeral Home from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday. McCOY, Ruby Albert, 87, of Blacksburg, died Monday, February 12, 199 6 at Richfield Nursing Center, Salem. Born in Longshop, Va. on August 18, 1908, she was the daughter of the late John Gordon Albert and Addie Long Albert. She was also preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Vernon Lee McCoy. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Charles Watson, Newland, N.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Becky McCoy, Salem, Jerry and Sue McCoy, Lexington; six grandchildren, Charles Watson Jr., Carol Craige, Sharon M. Conner, James Vernon McCoy, Sally McCoy and Steve McCoy; seven great-grandchildren, Christopher Conner, Andrew Conner, Ian McCoy, Rachel McCoy, Michael McCoy, Paige McCoy and Kristen Watson; a sister-in-law, Georgia M. McLEMORE, Francis Irene Burton, 70, of Roanoke, passed away Monday evening, February 12, 1996 in Burrell Nursing Center. She was the widow of William King McLemore, and is survived by two sisters and a brother. At the prior request of the deceased, there will be no funeral or memorial service. MINNICK, Bertha W., 81, of Christiansburg, died Sunday, February 11, 1996. Survivors include one sister, Lucy Walters, Christiansburg. MURRAY, William Edward, 78, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, February 11, 1996. Mr. Murray served in the United States Army during World War II, and was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Ferris Murray. Surviving are a sister, Bertha Murray Altice, Roanoke; a brother, Clarence W. Murray, Roanoke; also several nieces and nephews. REAMY, Ida Caroline Nielsen Wilson, 87, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, February 13, 1996 in Lewis Gale Hospital following a long illness. The youngest of nine children to Christ and Johanna Nielsen, she was born in Janesville, Iowa on August 17, 1908. After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa (State Teacher's College), she worked briefly as a secretary for John Deere Tractor Corporation. Later, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the government Civil Service division before becoming a full time home maker. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Hilton Wilson in 1940 and her second husband, William Clarence Reamy in 1974. Mrs. Reamy resided in Arlington, Va. until 10 years ago when she moved to Roanoke to live with her son, Dr. Wayne Wilson. She is survived by one sister, Agnes K. Nielsen, Cedar Falls, Iowa; a son, Dr. Wayne H. Wilson and wife, Jo Wilson, Roanoke; a son, Dr. William R. Reamy and companion, Thomas Petrillo, Rochester, N.Y.; granddaughter, Dr. Lisa Wilson and husband, Koy Farthing; granddaughter, Andrea Wilson; grandson, Brad Wilson; two great-grandchildren, Wilson Martin Farthing and Sara Jolee Farthing, all of Roanoke; and many nieces and nephews in Iowa. A small memorial service for family and friends will be conducted by Dr. Frank Preston at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Friday, February 16, 1996 at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. RECKLEY, Rachel Goodwin, 92, of Salem, died Monday, February 12, 1996, at Richfield Nursing Center. She is survived by her husband, Chester E. Reckley; a son and daughter-in-law, Everett C. and Christine Reckley, Bedford; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce R. and James Fontenot, Huntsville, Ala.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. SHAON, Oneida Smith 81, of Salem, died Monday, February 12, 1996. She was the widow of William Ray Shaon and a member of Calvary Tabernacle Church. She was retired from Jefferson Electric Company. STEFEN, Paula, 70, of Brandon Oaks Retirement Center, Roanoke, and formerly of Huddleston, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 1996. She was the widow of Col. William Stefen. Surviving are a son, Martin H. Stefen, Wendover, Nev.; grandson, Martin W. Stefen, Palm Desert, Calif.; a brother, Nikki Kraus, West Germany; an aunt, Renata Kraus, Oshkosh, Wis.
