COLLEGE NOTES

FERRUM COLLEGE recently named several Roanoke-area students to the dean's list for the fall 1995 semester: JoEllen Gordon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Jackson Gordon, Allison J. McWhorter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.T. McWhorter, and Kelly J. Mauck, daughter of Beverly and Charles Jones, all of Roanoke; and James Edward Lewis Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Lewis of Fincastle.

KAREN WILLIAMSON, director of financial services for Roanoke Memorial hospitals, has been inducted into the Chi Alpha honor society at Roanoke College, where she is pursuing a degree in business administration.

ALISSA DUERK of Roanoke has received her certified flight instructor certificate from UND Aerospace at the University of North Dakota.

KRISTINA M. LUTZ, daughter of Ann Marie Lutz of Roanoke, was on the dean's list for the fall 1995 term at Furman University.

ROBIN WILLIS of Roanoke was named to the dean's list at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls for the 1995 fall semester.

CHRIS BOYD, son of Dianne Boyd of Roanoke, recently participated in the 10th National Black Student Leadership Conference in Richmond. The conference is designed to better equip college students with leadership skills and to allow them to learn from the leaders of today.

Boyd, a junior journalism major at Lynchburg College, is a 1993 graduate of Patrick Henry High School.

EARNESTINE H. WOODLIFF of Salem recently was awarded a master of library and information studies degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

VIRGINIA TECH has awarded degrees for the 1995 fall semester to several Roanoke-area students.
