Coyne Golden Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. William A. Coyne, Jr. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Februrary 10, 1996 with an open house at their Southwest County home, hosted by their three daughters, Mary Carpin, Margaret Shively, and Martha Brammer. They are also the parents of two sons, Patrick and Michael.

Bill and Pat were married on February 9, 1946 at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church with Msgr. James A. Gilsenan and Rev. Harris M. Findlay officiating at the nuptial mass. Bill is retired from General Electric in Salem, and Pat retired as the secretary and office manager for the late Roger C. Grady, M.D. and from Physicians to Children, Inc.

They were honored with a special marriage blessing at the evening mass at Our Lady of Nazareth Church by their pastor, Father Kenneth G. Stofft. They are lifetime members of Our Lady of Nazareth and residents of Roanoke County. Pat is the former Alice Patricia Anderson. Hayes anniversary

Earl G. Hayes, Jr. and Thelma A. Hayes celebrated their 50th anniversary on February 10, 1996. They celebrated with a family dinner in Williamsburg, Virginia hosted by their children. The couple was married Feb. 19, 1946 in Gaffney, South Carolina. They have been residents of Roanoke for 68 years. Mrs. Hayes is the former Thelma Ann Hall. They have one daughter, Patricia A. Flora of Roanoke and three sons, Ronald E. Hayes of Tennessee, Gerald M. Hayes of Virginia Beach, and Jackie W. Hayes of Roanoke, and seven grandchildren. He is employed by Roanoke Fruit & Produce Company. She is employed by K & W Cafeteria-Crossroads.

Pat, Ron, Mike, & Jackie Sink anniversary

Maurice Edward and Luda Lee Sink celebrated their 50th anniversary on February 16, 1996. A private celebration was hosted by Brent and Marilyn Myers and Larry and Chastidy Hubbard. The couple was married February 16, 1946, in Christiansburg, Va. They have resided in Vinton for the past 39 years. Mrs. Sink is the former Luda Lee Sink (maiden and married name). The couple's children are Wayne Sink, Lugoff, S. C., Marilyn G. Myers, Roanoke, Va., and David K. Sink, Vinton, Va. They have two grandchildren and one great-grandchild (Chastidy R. Hubbard, married to Larry W. Hubbard, Jr., with great granddaughter Chelsie Nicole Hubbard; Christopher Wayne Sink, son of Wayne and Judy Sink).

Mr. Sink, a loving father, is retired from Hercules in Radford. Mrs. Sink is a loving mother, grandmother and housewife. They belong to Ninth Street Church of the Brethren, and Mr. Sink belongs to National Rifle Assoc.

Howard and Alice St.Clair celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 14, 1996, with a celebration held at Gospel Light Baptist Church. They were married February 14, 1946 at Enon Baptist Church. They have lived at their residence for 45 years. She's the former Alice E. Weddle. They have two sons, Allen St.Clair of Roanoke; and Larry St.Clair of Franklin County; also two grandchildren. He is retired from S&B Radio Supply, and she is retired from Orvis. They are members of Gospel Light Baptist Church. After a ceremony renewing their vows, they were honored with a reception hosted by their family in the church fellowship hall.
