Mr. and Mrs. Orin Moses of Roanoke are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Arlain Andrews, to Michael Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Martin of Roanoke.

Arlain is a 1990 graduate of Cave Spring High School and attended Virginia Western Community College. She is employed as the Marketing Assistant for Tanglewood Mall.

Michael is a 1983 graduate of Northeast High School in Northeast, Pennsylvania and attended Edinboro University. He is employed by Lowes of Roanoke.

Tammy Marie Dillon and Mark Daniel Lowman would like to announce their engagement this past December. Tammy is the daughter of Ocie R. Dillon and Lenford Everette Dillon of Rocky Mount, Va. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and is employed by First Union National Bank. Mark is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lowman, Sr. of Roanoke. Foster Jr. of San Antonio, Tx. She was graduated from Hollins College and is employed by Hollins College. He is a son of Dr. and Mrs. James K. Morgan of Roanoke, Va. Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Gibson, Jr. of Pulaski announce the engagement of their daughter, Nancy Gibson, to David Hale, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hale of Floyd. The engagement took place in Cancun Mexico.

The bride-elect is a 1987 graduate of Pulaski High School, 1992 graduate of paralegal studies, a former Miss Virginia-America contestant 1992, Miss Virginia-USA top-15 finalist, Miss Pulaski Co. Speedway. She has worked with Marilyn's Modeling Agency in N.C., for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company & Sony Corporation at professional sporting events such as the Women's Pro Volleyball Tour and NASCAR Winston Cup Races. She was formerly employed in Miami, Florida, but now is employed at McClung's Lumber Company in Salem.

The groom-elect is a graduate of Floyd County High School 1983, and attended Radford University. He is President and Owner of Beaver Creek Nursery in Floyd. A July 27, 1996 wedding will take place at the First Baptist Church in Radford, Va. The couple will honeymoon in Hawaii. Gokbudak-Lovell

Lale Deniz Gokbudak and Matthew Bruce Lovell are engaged. The wedding date is set for June 8, 1996 in Blacksburg. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lila and Ralph E. Wright and the late Dr. Mehmet T. Gokbudak, all of Salem. She is a graduate of Glenvar High School and is currently a senior in Chemical Engineering at Virginia Tech. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Connie and Larry K. Parady, Sr. of Salem and Dr. Bernard W. Lovell of North Windham, Connecticut. He is a graduate of Salem High School and is currently a senior in Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. Grant-Haskins

Sarah Elizabeth Grant and Darryl Haskins are engaged and planning to be married on June 29, 1996, in Roanoke. She is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Arthur E. Grant of Roanoke. Mr. and Mrs. John E. Hoover of Christiansburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen Marie, to Anthony Sterling Thomas, grandson of Mrs. Paulene T. Dewey of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Miss Hoover is a graduate of Radford University and is an Interior Designer in Richmond. Mr. Thomas is a graduate of United States Military Academy and has a Master of Science degree from the University of Southern California. He is currently a dental student at the Medical College of Virginia.

The wedding is planned for June 1 in Richmond. Hurst-Battle

Dr. & Mrs. Price H. Hurst, Jr. of Roanoke are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Joli Ayn, to William Lee Battle, son of Mrs. Jane B. Battle and the late William R. Battle, also of Roanoke. A Fall wedding is planned.

Victoria graduated from North Carolina School of the Arts with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts and completed three years post graduate study at the Conservatory of Music in Vienna, Austria. Victoria is now employed by Chubb & Son, Inc. as Sales Account Manager in Bridewater, N.J. Mark is a graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a minor in Religion and History. Mark is employed by Braishfield Associates in Clinton, N.J. as a corporate Vice President and Director of Benefit Resources and Investor Services. Jennifer L. Reynolds and Eric N. Plummer are engaged and planning to be married Saturday, April 26, 1997, in Roanoke. Jennifer is the daughter of Robin and Vincent Reynolds of Vinton. She graduated from Meredith College, Raleigh, N. C., May 1995, and she is currently enrolled in the Master's program in Speech Pathology at James Madison University. She is the daughter of Taylor and Brenda Wainwright of Salem, Virginia. Ashley is a graduate of Hollins College.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald C. Yates of Christiansburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Candace Michelle Yates, to Richard Douglas Clifton, Jr. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cornish of Christiansburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard D. Clifton of Austin, Texas.

Miss Yates' grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bragg of Christiansburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Yates, also of Christiansburg.

Mr. Clifton's grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clement Leone of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Anita Cornish of Warren, Connecticut.

Miss Yates attended Christiansburg High School and is a recent graduate of Virginia Tech, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She is employed as a staff accountant with Robinson, Farmer, Cox Associates.

Her fiance' is also a graduate of Christiansburg High School and is currently attending New River Community College, where he plans to receive a degree in Computer Programming. He is employed by Wal-Mart and the Coca-Cola Company.

A June wedding is planned.
