RENEE FAITH DOTY, and JEFFERY LAWRENCE BOWMAN recently graduated from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn.

Doty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Doty, graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in biology.

Bowman, son of Bonnie Venable, earned a bachelor of science degree in leisure services.

BRIDGEWATER COLLEGE has announced the names of Roanoke-area students recently named to the dean's list. They are: Micheal Baker of Buchanan; Chris Caldwell and Kelly Rebecca Honeycutt, both of Blue Ridge; Michelle Brown and Paul D. Chapman, both of Roanoke; and Sharon Harrison and Shannon Harrison, both of Salem.

AMY N. SHORT and BRIAN W. HILL, both of Roanoke, made the fall dean's list at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C.

CHAD ADRIAN CARTER, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Carter of Roanoke, was named to the dean's list at Pensacola (Fla.) Christian College.

CHRIS C. ROSEBERRY of Roanoke has been named to the dean's list at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga. He is a senior majoring in justice studies.

ERIN KATHLEEN MACHADO, daughter of Diane L. Machado and Edward Machado, both of Roanoke, was named to the honor roll at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C.

JAMES THOMAS JORDAN of Roanoke has been named to the fall dean's list at Valparaiso University in Indiana.

MARK FERGUSON, son of Sandra Ferguson of Roanoke and Larry Ferguson of Bedford, received a bachelor's degree in sociology/anthropology from Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C. He is a 1991 graduate of William Fleming High School.

ANTHONY ST. CLAIR of Roanoke was named to the fall dean's list at Tusculum College in Greenville, Tenn.

KERRI BLACKWELL, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Blackwell of Roanoke; AMBER CASEY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Casey of Roanoke; and LATOYA GARRISON, daughter of Barbara Garrison of Roanoke; were named to the fall-semester dean's list at Greensboro (N.C.) College.

BRIAN ANDREW BOWLES, son of Melvin and Dolories Bowles of Daleville, was named to the fall dean's list at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C.

FERRUM COLLEGE recently named several Roanoke-area students to the dean's list for the fall 1995 semester: JoEllen Gordon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Jackson Gordon, Allison J. McWhorter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.T. McWhorter, and Kelly J. Mauck, daughter of Beverly and Charles Jones, all of Roanoke; and James Edward Lewis Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Lewis of Fincastle.

KAREN WILLIAMSON, director of financial services for Roanoke Memorial hospitals, has been inducted into the Chi Alpha honor society at Roanoke College, where she is pursuing a degree in business administration.

ALISSA DUERK of Roanoke has received her certified flight instructor certificate from UND Aerospace at the University of North Dakota.

KRISTINA M. LUTZ, daughter of Ann Marie Lutz of Roanoke, was on the dean's list for the fall 1995 term at Furman University.

ROBIN WILLIS of Roanoke was named to the dean's list at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls for the 1995 fall semester.

CHRIS BOYD, son of Dianne Boyd of Roanoke, recently participated in the 10th National Black Student Leadership Conference in Richmond. The conference is designed to better equip college students with leadership skills and to allow them to learn from the leaders of today.

Boyd, a junior journalism major at Lynchburg College, is a 1993 graduate of Patrick Henry High School.

EARNESTINE H. WOODLIFF of Salem recently was awarded a master of library and information studies degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY has awarded bachelor's degrees to the following Roanoke-area students for the 1995 fall semester: Sandra L. Adams, Bryant F. Cass, Mason I. Cass. Michelle A. Esguerra, Christie A. Hunt and Leonard B. Navitskis, all of Roanoke; Thomas C. Joyce and Elisa A. Winstead, both of Salem, and Rebecca L. Meacham from Troutville.
