three of his short films Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Claytor Room of

Radford University's Heth Hall. Shown here are scenes from two of

Garrison's films, "Fat Monroe" (above) and "Night Ride" (right).

Both are based on short stories from Gurney Norman's collection,

"Kinfolks." "Fat Monroe," starring Ned Beatty, premiered at the 1990

New York Film Festival and was broadcast nationally through PBS for

three years. Garrison's talk Tuesday is free and open to the

public.
