Freshman Gina Guthrie scored a game-high 25 points as Roanoke Valley Christian upended Lynchburg Christian 45-35 in a semifinal of the Blue Ridge Conference tournament on Friday at Roanoke Catholic.
With the win, Roanoke Valley Christian (18-2) advances to the title game today at 5:30 p.m. against Grace Christian.
Guthrie had 10 of her points in the second quarter as the Eagles outscored the Bulldogs 17-12 to take a 25-24 lead at the half. Guthrie scored nine of the Eagles' 11 points in the third quarter.
Rebecca Bryant pulled down 15 rebounds and added nine points for Roanoke Valley Christian.
Diane Norman scored 13 points and Shannon Carroll added 10 for the Bulldogs, who managed just 11 points in the second half after tiring from the Eagles' man-to-man press.

Summers scored nine of her points in the second quarter as Grace Christian took a 13-point lead at the half.
Teresa Monsour led the Celtics (10-10) with nine points while Christy Hinman grabbed 14 rebounds.

Bath County 55, James River 38: The Chargers took control of a close game in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Knights 22-8 to advance to the final of the Pioneer District tournament.
Bath County (18-3) played a strong game defensively and did not allow any James River (11-11) player to score in double figures. Stewart Alexander led the Chargers with 15 points.
The Chargers will take on Glenvar tonight immediately following the JV championship game.
