Burning hay bales at a Jennelle Road barn caused about $25,000 in damage Tuesday afternoon.

The fire was reported at about 3 p.m. Twenty firefighters responded, staying on the scene for more than three hours.

Keith Bolte, chief of the Blacksbg Volunteer Fire Department, said hay bales caught fire from a nearby burning pile of brush. The fire caused about $25,000 in damage to farm equipment stored in the barn, he said.
