ALCORN, Elsie Virginia Ferris, 89, of Roanoke, died Monday, February 26, 1996. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter William Alcorn; and sons, Herbert E. and Leonard E. Alcorn; daughters, Beatrice Virginia Alcorn and Irene Jordan. She is survived by her daughter, Zettie Mae Alcorn; sons, Carlton W. and wife, June Alcorn, Atlanta, Ga., Clifton Alcorn, Roanoke, Richard L. and wife , Lynn Alcorn, Roanoke County; thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two daughter-in-laws, Brenda and Margaret Alcorn. ANDERS, Ossie Murray, 90, of Independence, a resident of Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Blacksburg, passed away Monday, February 26, 1996 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home. She was the widow of Abe Anders. She was born April 21, 1905 in Grayson County, Va. to Coy and Mattie Austin Murray. She was a member of Peach Bottom Primitive Baptist Church, Independence, Va. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Wayne Edwards, Christiansburg; daughter-in-law, Maxine Anders, British, Honduras; three grandchildren, Bobby Tuggle, Christiansburg, Randy Anders, Boston, Mass., Barry Anders, Independence; three sisters, Lucy Roberts, Galax, Minnie Widner, Nan Funk, both of Fries; and eight great-grandchildren also survive. JENNINGS, Frank V., 76, of Macon, Ga., died Monday, February 26, 1996 in a local hospital. Mr. Jennings was the son of the late Robert Henry Jennings and the late Pearl Frances Finch Jennings. He was born in Roanoke, Va. and had lived in Macon for two years, moving here from Decatur. Mr. Jennings was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, where he served on the Administrative Board and was a member of the Woodruff Sunday School Class. He was a former member of Decatur First Methodist Church. He was retired from Metro Brokers in Atlanta and was a real estate salesman and a salesman for Roadway Express. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in North Africa and Italy. Survivors include his wife, Helen J. Jennings of Macon; daughter, Nancy J. Finney of Macon; sons, Dr. Frank V. Jennings Jr. of Summitt, N.J. and Dr. Timothy Allen Jennings of Albany, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Kimberly Denise Finney of Macon, Timothy Wayne Finney of Macon, Morgan Celeste Jennings of Summitt, N.J. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Riverside United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tom Jones officiating. The Woodruff Sunday School Class will sit together as a group. Burial will be private. MARSH, Joseph Tilghman, of Moneta, died Monday, February 26, 1996, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital due to heart failure. He was born December 26, 1921 in Lynchburg, Va. to the late Addison Peter Marsh and Constance Fisher Marsh. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Phronsie Marsh Sitwell of Bedford, Va., Elizabeth March MacDonald of Whately, MA., and Catherine Marsh Hurt of Lynchburg, Va.; and two brothers, Edmund Walker Marsh of Lynchburg, Va., who was killed in World War II, and Addison Peter Marsh of Pittsburgh, Pa. Mr. Marsh married Kathryn Phillips on July 2, 1948 in Paducah, Texas. She survived him, along with their four children, Elizabeth Phillips Marsh (Alan Marc Soloway) of Stamford, CT., Charles Phillips Marsh of Urbana, IL., Margaret Marsh Knight (Kevin Coffield Knight) of Arlington, Va., and Edmund Walker Marsh II of Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by a sister, Jessie Marsh Enslin of Lynchburg, Va. and a brother, Richard Donald Marsh of Urbana, Va., as well as four grandchildren, Michael Abernathy Marsh-Soloway, Kathryn Meredith Marsh-Soloway, Anna Elizabeth Knight and Caleb Coffield Knight. Mr. Marsh graduated from E. C. Glass High School, Lynchburg, Va. in 1939. He attended Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Va. and received both his bachelor and master of science degrees in journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, Il., where he was a member of Sigma Delta Chi. He later earned his doctorate from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Mr. Marsh began his journalism career as a reporter for the Richmond News Leader from 1948 through 1960. He then went to work for Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Il., where he later taught journalism until his retirement in 1988. In 1990, he and his wife moved to Smith Mountain Lake near Moneta, Va. A major interest in retirement for Mr. Marsh was researching family history and editing the ``Over the Hilltoppers"" newsletter for the E. C. Glass High School Class of 1939. Funeral services will be conducted at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Moneta, Va., at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 29, 1996, followed by burial in the church graveyard. The Reverend Riley Smith will conduct the service, with the assistance of the Reverend Douglas Akers of New Hope United Methodist Church, Glenns, Va. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 1996 at the Whitten Timberlake Chapel, Lynchburg, Va. MIGLIARESE, Ralph George, 63, of Salem, died Saturday, February 24, 1996. Born on March 1, 1932, in Norristown, Pa., he was the son of the late Raffaele and Concetta Migliarese. A veteran of the U. S. Navy, he was retired from Zayre Corporation and the W. T. Grant Company where he was in retail management. He was a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Salem and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Mount Dora, Fla. He was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, and was a member of the Order of Sons of Italy in America in Winston-Salem, N.C. He is survived by his wife, Rose A. Mastrocola Migliarese of Salem; a brother, Joseph G. Migliarese of Norristown, Pa.; a sister, Anna Marie Migliarese of Norristown, Pa.; eight children, Theodore M. Migliarese, Gina M. Williams and Alyssa M. White of Winston-Salem, N.C., R. Gregory Migliarese and Timothy M. Migliarese of Salem, James P. Migliarese of Richmond, Rose Ann M. Halages of Roanoke and Katy Migliarese of Chapel Hill, N.C., and 15 grandchildren, Gregory Williams, Joseph Williams, Brian Migliarese, Matthew Migliarese, Maria Migliarese, R.
