BLACKSBURG CLASSIC OFFERS RACES, FUN

The Blacksburg Classic, featuring races, fun runs and fun walks, will be held this Saturday beginning at the Rector Field House.

The events include 10-mile and 5-kilometer races and a 1-mile fun run/walk.

The races will begin at the field house on Virginia Tech's campus at 9:30 a.m.

The fun run/walk will begin at 10:15 a.m.

Race registration is $12 through March 1 and $20 on race day. Fun run/walk registration is $7 with a T-shirt and $3 without. All registration fees include a post-race pizza party.

Awards will be given to winners in specific age groups. The overall top male and female runners in each race also will receive awards. Medals will be given to all finishers in the fun run/walk.

The race will not be cancelled or postponed, even if there's snow.
