Uh, we won't be needing those rooms after all.
Defending champion Wisconsin-Platteville, which had some of its alumni reserve more than 130 rooms at the Holiday Inn Airport, was canceling those plans Thursday night after the Pioneers fell to Wisconsin-Whitewater 85-77 in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament in Platteville, Wis. The Final Four will be played in Salem.
``Our boosters tend to get a little anxious,'' said Becky Bohm, a Platteville spokeswoman.
Whitewater shot 72 percent from the field in the second half, 73 percent from 3-point range and 100 percent from the free-throw line.
``We ran into a bit of a buzzsaw,'' Bohm said.
