AMNOTT, Del J., 88, of Bedford, died Thursday, February 22, 1996. Memorial services 3 p.m. Sunday, Main Street United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Carder-Tharp Funeral Home.

BAKER, Jerry E., 51, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 1996 in a local hospital. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School and was president of Ace Steel, Inc. Surviving are his son, Jeffrey Baker; daughter, Kimberly Baker; parents Cecil M. and Rachel E. Baker, all of Roanoke; brothers, Stephen M. Bak er, Alpharetta, Ga., Danny W. Baker, Midlothian, Chris E. Baker, Greer, S.C.; sisters, Sharon B. Hartman, Salem, Karen B. Turner, Botetourt County; fiancee, Vickie Vandergrift, Roanoke; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Oakey's North Chapel by the Reverend Walter L. Wood. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oakey's North Chapel

BLAIR, Carl Clarence Sr., 79, of Radford, passed away Thursday, February 29, 1996 at Radford Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Giles Blair, on February 3, 1996. He was a retired fireman for Hercules, and was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include a son, Carl C. Blair Jr. of Radford; daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Brookman of Christiansburg; three grandchildren, William B. Brookman of Buford, Ga., John K. and Tracy L. Brookman, both of Christiansburg; one brother, Luther Blair of Lancaster, Ohio; one sister, Cleo Gore of Anderson, Ind. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 1996, at 11 a.m. at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford, with the Rev. Will Shewey officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

BLANKENSHIP, Katie E., 97, of the Berkshire Health Care Center, Vinton, died Wednesday, February 28, 1996. She was the widow of Thomas H. Blankenship, and a member of the a Wavely Place Baptist Church. Surviving are five nephews, Charles L. (Mooney) Graham, Roanoke; Edward Graham, Newport News; Raymond E. (Blackie) Graham, Goodview, Earl G. Harder, Tallahassee, T. Allen Harder, Burlington, N.C.; two nieces, Doris Yarbro, Linda Massey, both of Burlington, N.C. Funeral services will be Oakey's Vinton Chapel 11: 30 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 1996 with the Rev. Charles Hoffler officiating. Interment will be at Fair View Cemetery. CARBAUGH, Rosie Lee Kanode, 82, of Narrows, passed away Thursday, February 29, 1996 at the Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Pembroke on July 3, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Jessie and Jouie Lang Kanode. She was a member of the Pembroke Church of God and was preceded in death by one son, Robert Clifton Carbaugh. Surviving is her husband, Robert O. Carbaugh; two sons and daughters-in-law, Arnold Lee and Ruth Carbaugh of Narrows and Calvin Ray and Brenda Carbaugh of Pembroke; one daughter-in-law, Betty Carbaugh of Princeton, W.Va.; two brothers, Melvin and Miles Kanode, both of Eggleston; two sisters, Mrs. Zola Waldrop of Richmond, and Mrs. Eunice Hazelton of Canton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 3, 1996 at 2 p.m. at the Pembroke Church of God, with the Rev. Raymond White and the Rev. James Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke, Saturday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.

CREASY, Hensley Moorman 80, of Rt. 1, Goodview, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 1996. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army and trustee at Southside Baptist C hurch. Survivors include his wife, Florence Thomason Creasy; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Rev. Charles Lockerby, Abingdon; one sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Hensley Prather, Goodview; three grandchildren, Janet Farah, Knoxville, Tenn., David Lockerby, Myrtle Beach, S.C., John Lockerby, Norfolk. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 1996, from the Southside Baptist Church. The Rev. Donnie Glass will officiate. Burial to follow in Goodview Baptist Church Cemetery. HAYES, Warren G., (``Tom''), 75, of Wytheville, died Wednesday, February 28, 1996 in the Wythe County Community Hospital. He was a retired Environmentalist with the Wythe County Health Dept. for 39 years. He was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #9, Wytheville Masonic Lodge #82 AF & AM, and a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn H. Hayes of Wytheville; daughter, Connie H. Robbins of Macon, Ga.; son, Tommy Warren Hayes of Langely, Okla.; sisters, Katherine H. Woodard, Maudie H. Kanode, Roxie Hayes, all of Salem; brother, Bill Hayes of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Scott Robbins, Ross Robbins, Nathan Hayes. Funeral services will be Friday, 8:30 p.m., in the chapel of the Grubb Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Dr. Charles Burnett, with a graveside service Saturday, noon, in the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Grubb Funeral Home Friday from 7 p.m. until service time. HOLMES, Paul J., 78, of Abingdon, died Thursday, February 29, 1996. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday in the Campbell Funeral Home Chapel.

HOPSON, Jessie Owen, 88, of Wirtz, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 1996. He served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. Survivors include one son, James Bonds; two daughters, Renee and Lynda Bonds; one sister, Mamie Payne, Goodview; sister-in-law, Christine Menefee, Wertz, W.Va.; devoted nieces, Delores P. Davis, Moneta, and Margaret Taylor, Maryland; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel. Dr. Noel C. Taylor will officiate. The interment will be in the Olive Branch Church Cemetery, Moneta. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at Hamlar-Curtis.

LAWSON, Zachary Allen, 9 days, became an angel in heaven on February 28, 1996, at 7:45 p.m. He was the beloved son of Dennis and Lisa Lawson, twin brother to Benjamin Michael; and sister, Heather Nicole Lawson. He is also survived by grandparents, Alivn and Arlie Mabry and Hazel Lawson, all of Roanoke; three uncles; four aunts; seven cousins. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 1, 199 6, at 10 a.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. MARTIN, Rose Ann Arthur, 56, of Route 1, Moneta, died Thursday, February 29, 1996, in Bedford County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Roanoke on June 8, 1939, a daughter of the late Arvey Willard (``Doc"") Arthur and Gladys Irene McCarty Arthur. She was a member of Staunton Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Harold Benford Martin, Sr.; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold Benfo rd Jr. (``Ben"") and Kathy F. Martin of Roanoke, and one stepgrandson, Christopher Michael Allen of Roanoke. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 1996, in Staunton Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Frank Schmitt and the Rev. Allen Blanks officiating. NICHOLS, Geneva Elizabeth, 71, of Ferrum, died Wednesday, February 28, 1996, at her home. Born February 15, 1925, she was a daughter of the late J. A. and Amanda Starker Hodges. Surviving are her husband, Sher man Nichols of the home; one son, Danny Nichols, Ferrum; three sisters, Rosa H. Gearhart and Ethel N. Nichols, both of Callaway, and Bessie H. Gearhart, Rocky Mount; one brother-in-law, William Green, Callaway; one sister-in-law, Elsie Hodges, Callaway; special friend, Betty Phillips, Callaway; and several nieces and nephews.
