Today is the last day candidates interested in running for town and city council elections can file the forms that will put them on the May ballot.
Candidates must file all required information with their local registrars by 7 p.m. In Montgomery County, that means forms and a petition with 125 signatures of registered voters. In more rural counties, like Giles, no petition is required. Call your registrar for more information.
Citizens, meanwhile, have until April 8 to register to vote in the May 7 election.
