VINTON MAYOR, COUNCILMEN ARE UNOPPOSED

Three Vinton councilman whose terms expire in June have no competition in the upcoming May election.

Unless there are write-in candidates, Mayor Charles R. Hill, and councilmen Joseph L. Bush Jr. and C.Buford Barton will be unopposed on May 7. They were the only candidates to meet the March 5 filing deadline.

Hill was elected to council in 1976 and was first elected mayor in1980. Both Bush and Barton are completing their first four-year terms.

Two other council members, Robert R. Altice and William E. "Billy" Obenchain, have two more years each on their terms.
