ALLISON PREDICTS DIVORCE

Retired NASCAR driver Bobby Allison said his 36-year marriage is near an end, mainly because of the deaths of his two sons.

Allison told The Birmingham News in a story published Friday that he and wife, Judy, likely would get a divorce soon.

``There is always a chance that it could change, that something becomes help when you think that help is absolutely impossible,'' Allison said.

Mrs. Allison declined comment.

Allison, who now has his own racing team, traced their marital problems to the 1992 death of son Clifford in a racing accident and the 1993 death of son Davey in a helicopter crash.

``I really feel like our biggest problem is the ongoing agony of losing the boys,'' he said. ``No one feels it more than a mother.''

Allison is selling his Hueytown house and plans to live at his condominium at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
