A Southwest Roanoke convenience store clerk was robbed at knifepoint Monday morning, police said.
About 5:45 a.m., police said, a man walked into the Stop In Food Store at 1828 Memorial Ave. S.W., displayed a knife, and ordered the clerk to open her register.
The man grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.
In another incident reported by police Monday, an 82-year-old woman's purse was snatched as she returned home Friday afternoon.
Tula Lee Dunbar was walking to her house on Old Mountain Road Northeast about 2 p.m. when a woman came from behind her and grabbed her purse, police said.
Dunbar fell to the ground and injured her hip, police said. She was treated at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Dunbar's purse contained $15.
No arrests have been made in either case.
