Disaster loans are still available at the Small Business Administration's disaster center in Covington to cover damages from the Jan. 19-Feb. 1 flooding in Western Virginia.
The SBA said it has approved more than $1 million in loans so far at centers in Covington, Edinburgh and Waynesboro. The assistance is available to homeowners, renters and businesses in counties and cities that were declared disaster areas.
The Covington center in the National Guard Armory is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sundays. To be eligible for all forms of disaster assistance, including loans, victims must first register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency at (800)462-9029.
