ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Salem issued nearly $4.9 million in building permits to contractors in February. Included were two hotels: The Inn at Ridgewood Farms for $1.7 million, and a yet-unnamed hotel on Sheraton Drive worth $2.4 million. Also listed were expansions at Timber Truss and at Vista Eye Center.

Roanoke issued permits worth $3.1 million, including a $1 million expansion of Advanced Stores Inc. headquarters.

Roanoke County reported $2.4 million, including 28 single-family homes.
