METCALF APPOINTED

Robert C. Metcalf, who has served as acting state secretary of health and human services since Jan. 1, was given the job on a permanent basis Tuesday.

Metcalf, who formerly headed the state office that oversees Medicaid, was named acting secretary after Kay Coles James resigned in December. - Associated Press
