DANIEL ZAHN NAMED LIONBERGER PRESIDENT

Lionberger Construction Co., one of the region's major commercial contractors, has named Daniel A. Zahn president and chief operating officer. Samuel L. Lionberger Jr. remains board chairman and chief executive officer of the Roanoke company.

Zahn has been with Lionberger Construction since 1981 and was an executive vice president.

Lionberger Construction was founded in 1950 by S. Lewis Lionberger, who has since retired. Its projects include the Roanoke headquarters of BellSouth Communications Co., Colonnade Office Park, the ITT Industries Corp. plant in Roanoke, Roanoke Orthopedic Center, the post office building on Virginia 419 and the Norfolk & Western car painting facility.

Other officers elected by the directors are Sam Lionberger III, vice president and treasurer; D. Ray McCune, vice president; Lorinda G. Lionberger, vice president and secretary; and David W. Underwood, assistant vice president.
