ARTIST TO LEAD WORKSHOP IN MOSAICS

Mosaic Tiles, an ancient form of art used in architecture throughout the world, is the title of a sculpture workshop that will be held March 22. Artist Ivy Parsons will present the workshop, which is sponsored by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Blacksburg Regional Art Association. The program will be at Christiansburg High School from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Workshop participants will make mosaics from found objects such as marbles, stones, colored glass and mirrors - arranging materials first on paper while considering light, texture and color. The workshop is one in a series supporting art in the public schools sponsored by the Blacksburg Regional Art Association. For more information, call Betty Moore at 951-7933.
