Bandy anniversary
William L. Bandy and Georgia D. Taliaferro were married on March 9, 1946. They have six daughters, three sons, 15 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. A celebration of their fiftieth wedding a nniversary was held Sunday, March 10, 1996
Daugherty anniversary
Coy and Mildred Daugherty celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 5, 1996. A reception was held in their honor by their five children and eight grandchildren at Locust Grove United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 16, 1996, and was attended by their close friends and family. Mr. and Mrs. Daugherty reside in Glenvar and have a variety of interests in their retirement years. Mr. Daugherty is a retired brick mason, a volunteer at the Salem VA Medical Center, a member of the American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor and the Disabled American Veterans and is an ex-POW. Mrs. Daugherty retired from Roanoke County Social Services and does volunteer work at Locust Grove United Methodist Church.
Diekow anniversary
William E. and Judith W. Diekow will celebrate their 35th anniversary today, March 17, 1996. The celebration will be held at the Holiday Inn-Airport. They were married March 18, 1961 at Hawleyton Methodist Church, Binghamton, N.Y. They have five daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Scott (Deborah) Alitzer of Roanoke; Mr. and Mrs. Tony (Lorraine) Earls of Roanoke; Mr. and Mrs. Randy (Beth) Jones of Wytheville; Mr. and Mrs. Greg (Linda) Wolford of Roanoke; and Ms. Colleen Diekow of Roa noke.

Ferguson anniversary
Harry L. and Hallie M. Ferguson celebrated their 50th anniversary on Saturday, March 2, 1996. The celebration was held in Rich Creek, Va. It was hosted by their sons, Harry W. ``Tim'' Ferguson of Collinsville, and Ronald L. Ferguson of Roanoke. The couple was married February 28, 1946 in Pearisburg, Va. She's the former Hallie Mae Bradley. They have four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one step grandchild and one step great-grandchild.
He is retired from Hercules, Radford Arsenal, and she is a housewife. They are members of First Church of God, Rich Creek, Va.
Fisher anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Essie Fisher celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 11, 1996. They were married in Craig County, Va., on March 11, 1936. They are the parents of seven children, have thirteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Fisher is the former Anna Belle Troutt. She is retired from V.P.I., and Mr. Fisher is a retired farmer. They have resided in Craig Co. all their lives.

Pierce anniversary
William O. and Ruth V. Pierce celebrated their 50th anniversary on March 16, 1996 with a family dinner at Natural Bridge, Va., where they spent their wedding night. Mr. Pierce is a Veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific. He is retired from Sam Finley Construction Co. after 40 years of service. Mrs. Pierce is the former Ruth Vest and has been a homemaker during their marriage. They have one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Ken Brown. They also have 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Mandy Brown.

Pratt anniversary
Elwood and Sylvia Pratt celebrated their golden anniversary on February 18, 1996. The Pratt's were joined by family, friends, and neighbors at the Bank of Floyd Community Room for their celebration. The Pratt's were married on February 23, 1946. They have four surviving children, Loretta Vest, David Pratt, Ruby Torres, and Ralph Pratt. Two children, Mary Alice and Roger are deceased. The Pratt's have nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is a retired carpenter, and she is retired from Skyline Sportswear. They had resided in Floyd County until their recent move to Christiansburg.
