A 28-year-old Ivanhoe man was killed and two people were hospitalized in a two-car collision Thursday night near the Ivanhoe community in Wythe County.
Paul Wade Matthews was driving north on Virginia 94 about 7:40 p.m., according to state Trooper F.R. Ferrell, when he crossed the center lane and moved into the path of a southbound pickup truck driven by Elbert Jones, 76, of Wytheville.
Matthews was pronounced dead at the scene. Jones and a passenger, Dorothy Jones, 65, were in stable condition at Wythe County Community Hospital with broken bones and lacerations.
