Police still seeking abduction suspect

HARRISONBURG - Authorities are asking people to come forward who may have had contact with a man suspected of involvement in the disappearance of a 25-year-old Baltimore woman.

Alicia Showalter Reynolds has been missing since March 2, when her car was found on U.S. 29 about two miles south of Culpeper.

Police are searching for a white male, 35-45 years old, about 6 feet tall, medium build with light- to medium-brown hair. He is believed to be driving a black late-model Nissan pickup with blue stripes and a chrome bumper and wheels.

The suspect apparently stopped or tried to stop several women driving on U.S. 29 in the two months before Reynolds disappeared.

Firefighters honor fallen comrade

CHESAPEAKE - Hundreds of firefighters turned out Saturday for a second funeral in as many days of a comrade killed in the line of duty.

John L. Hudgins, 32, a 10-year veteran of the fire department, and Frank Young, 38, died Monday when falling debris trapped them in a burning store.

Young was buried Friday. On Saturday, Hudgins' comrades bid him farewell. He will be buried in Utah.

``John Hudgins Jr. exemplified the best qualities of the fire department,'' Chesapeake Chief Michael L. Bolac said. ``He believed in them and he lived them.''

Hudgins was twice honored in 1993 for saving lives and had received four letters of commendation since 1990.
