The Supreme Court on Monday refused, without comment, to hear the appeals of Virginia death row inmates Mark A. Sheppard and Tony L. Fry.
Fry pleaded guilty to the February 1994 robbery and murder of Leland A. Jacobs, a Chesterfield County car salesman who took Fry and a co-defendant for a test drive. Evidence showed that Fry shot Jacobs 11 times and, while Jacobs was still alive, tied him to the car and dragged him along a dirt road.
Sheppard was convicted of the November 1993 slayings of Richard A. Rosenbluth and his wife, Rebecca W. Rosenbluth, who were shot in their Chesterfield home.
