Four area companies plan to expand into new quarters, part of a subdivision within the Jack C. Smith Industrial Park.
W. David Hale, president of DVW Inc., purchased 8 acres in the industrial park off U.S. 460 in Roanoke and Botetourt counties. He subdivided that land into six commercial properties and has sold four of them. Two other tracts, one with a 10,000 square-foot shell building, are still for sale or lease.
Read A. Lunsford of Hall Associates Inc. of Roanoke, who brokered three of the four sales, said the properties were sold to:
Dannie and Sheryl McCormack, who trade as Security Transport and Delivery Service. That business will move to the site from Statesman Industrial Park in Roanoke.
Ronald and Sue Kegley, trading as Kegley Electric Co. They will move from leased quarters on Shenandoah Valley Avenue N.E. in Roanoke.
SoRo Properties LLC. Lunsford said this is a new family business formed to build and lease commercial real estate. It will construct a 13,250-square-foot building for lease to the Reynolds Metals Company's construction products division.
Allan and Carol Hilligsberg, who trade as Quality Cable Co. The company has operated for some time in Botetourt County, Lunsford said, but this is its first commercial location.
Botetourt County Administrator Gerald Burgess said the county worked with developer Hale to expedite handling of the development plan reviews. Botetourt and Roanoke counties are relocating a sewer line from the path of one of the proposed buildings.
The industrial park is named for the former executive director of the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce.
