The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors set the county's real estate, personal property and machinery and tools tax rates Tuesday night for the 1996-97 fiscal year, and none of them increased.
The board had discussed possibly raising the real estate tax rate by as much as 2 cents to help fund the bonds for a new Cave Spring High School.
But the board and county staff decided a tax increase would not be necessary this year.
The board set the real estate tax rate at $1.13 per $100 of assessed value.
The personal property tax rate was set at $3.50 per $100 of assessed value, and the machinery and tools tax rate was set at $3 per $100 of assessed value.
