OUR THANKS ...

We're indebted to two other elegant and updated classics, the Hotel Roanoke and The Homestead, whose generosity, courtesy and beautiful settings brought our spring fashions to life.

Thanks to the Hotel Roanoke, that classy lady of the city, whose welcome and refreshed presence is once again at the heart of the downtown. Director of Sales and Marketing Gary Crizer treated us like honored guests and didn't mind our climbing on walls and standing in windows. Thanks also to good sports Jay Hall and Mike Lynch of the Virginia Department of Transportation, who let us join their pool game outside the Pine Room.

Our gratitude also goes to The Homestead, that gracious lady of the countryside. We fell in love with the Great Hall, Crystal Ballroom, Garden Room and the rocking chairs on the front porch. And the gloriously remodeled swimming pool. And the new breezeway to the spa and mineral baths. We used them all. Thanks to Public Relations Manager Susan Hruska, whose warm hospitality made it hard to leave.

Thanks to Susan Bulbin, local sales associate for the Worth Collection since 1992, for lending us her clothes. The Worth Collection is also available from sales associate Pat Lawson.

Thanks also to Roanoke Times editorial assistants Beth Day Pashley, Lisa Smith and Laura Zivkovich, who carried heavy loads and ran many errands - and smiled all the while.

A final thanks to Darrell Edwards, Karolyn Sink and Aaron Stuart of The Roanoke Times' imaging department for their prepress work on our photographs.
