WHO, WHEN & WHERE

Concert, bake sale|

The Key West Band will play at a concert and bake sale Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fret Mill Music Co. on Roanoke's City Market.

The event is a benefit for the Leukemia Society of America. Several area youths are under treatment for the disease.

Sweets will be made by Bonnie Gregory, a chef at Alexander's restaurant. Leukemia Society T-shirts will also be sold.

There is no admission charge. Donations will be accepted.

Heritage book

The Smyth County Heritage Book Committee meets every third Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 137 W. Main St., Marion.

The public is invited to attend.
