Terry Driscoll, a sports marketing and event management executive, was named Tuesday athletic director at William and Mary. Driscoll, 48, of Wellesley, Mass., replaces John Randolph, who died of cancer in August 1995. A Boston College graduate and former professional basketball player, Driscoll has not worked in college athletics administration.
Darnell Autry, the star running back who helped lead Northwestern to the Rose Bowl this past season, is suing the NCAA so he can act in a movie being shot in Europe this summer. Autry, a Heisman Trophy finalist and sophomore drama student, intends to overturn the NCAA's ban on athletes appearing in movies.
