COLWELL, Doris Goolsby, 73, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, April 5, 1996. She was the widow of Ralph E. Colwell. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Michael E. and Marcia D. Colwell, Portland, Ore.; two grandchildren, Melissa Kersey, Sean Kersey; a sister, Mrs. Jean Firebaugh, Roanoke; nephew and wife, Steven C. and Elizabeth D. Firebaugh, Roanoke. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sherwood Memorial Park, with the Rev. Robin Colwell officiating. DANIELS, Vera Lee, 47, of Roanoke, di ed Thursday, April 4, 1996. She is survived by her mother, Maria Ferguson of Baltimore, Md.; one daughter, Colleen Talley; one son, Charles H. Daniels Jr., both of Roanoke; one brother, Robert W. Ferguson; two sisters, Jean Brockington and Berthelia Jennings-Bobbitt, all of Baltimore; five grandchildren, Jatara, Jarrad, Gerrod, Maurice and D'Juan; one son-in-law, Maurice Talley; one daughter-in-law, Nikola Daniels, all of Roanoke; one uncle, Norman Ferguson of Burkeville; godmother, Bessie Sommerville of Baltimore; one brother-in-law, Woodrow Bobbitt; one sister-in-law, Betty Ferguson; three nieces, Wilma, Cynthia and Monica; one great-niece, Jennifer; three nephews, Robert, George and Willie, all of Baltimore; fiance, Thomas Davis of Roanoke; four great-aunts, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, at Garden of Prayer No. 6, with the Rev. Malverse Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. DILLON, John Hampton, 92, of Roanoke, died Friday, April 5, 1996, at the Virginia Care Center. He was born on October 15, 1903, and was a member of Garden City Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Geneva Swanson Lumsden Dillon; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Newton and Mary Lumsden, Roger and Carolyn Lumsden, all of Roanoke; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Ruby and Donald Foster, Wirtz; five stepgrandsons; two stepgranddaughters; two stepgreat-grandsons; two stepgreat-granddaughters; a special cousin, Carl Dillon, Roanoke; special friends, Rev. Danny Wright and his wife, Cynthia Wright, Roanoke. Graveside service will be held on Monday, April 8, 1996, at 2:00 p.m. in Evergreen Burial Park, with the Rev. James Opetaia-Williamson officiating. HAGY, Bertha L., 90, of Christiansburg, went to be with her Lord Friday, April 5, 1996. She was a faithful member of the Union Valley Pente costal Holiness Church for 36 years. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and James Miller, Betty and Robert Osborne, all of Christiansburg, Cheryl and Willie Austin, Radford; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 3 stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Ethel Snider, Blacksburg; special friends, Merl Flinchum, Betty Burress and Betty Jo Hagy. Sister Hagy has now heard the words spoken of a life successfully completed, ``Well done'' good and faithful servant. Enter now into the joys of the Lord. HUFFMAN, Georgia Marie Harris, 73, of Salem, died Friday, April 5, 1996. She was retired from Eli Lilly Company. She is survived by her husband, James W. Huffman; a brother and sister-in-law, Woodrow and Jessie Harris, Salem; a sister, Minnie Shelton, Roanoke; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and Wayne Andleton, Evelyn and Roy Flora, Salem. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8, 1996, at 10 a.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel, with the Rev. John Huffaker and the Rev. Graham Sowers officiating. JOHNSON, Clementine Hardy, 87, of Bedford, died Saturday, April 6, 1996, in Carriage Hill Retirement Center. She was born in Bedford County on March 2, 190 9, a daughter of the late Joseph Griffin Hardy and Annie Davis White Hardy. She was a retired teacher with Bedford County Schools and was a member of Mt. Olivet Southern Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, W. Glen Johnson; three brothers, Ralph H. Hardy of Bedford, Griffin Hardy of Roanoke and Joe A. Hardy of Pulaski; two sisters, Jane W. Hardy of Bedford and Elizabeth H. Via of Roanoke, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 8, 1996, at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. MURPHY, Patricia Donaldson, 65, of Max Meadows, ``Grahams Forge Community,"" died Saturday, April 6, 1996, i n the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William S. Murphy, and her parents, Ralph and Hazel Donaldson. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Warren and Jan Murphy, Christiansburg, John Murphy, Grahams Forge, Cathy Murphy, Christiansburg; two daughters and son-in-law, Mary Ann Murphy, Grahams Forge, Teresa and Glenn Houchins, Max Meadows; nine grandchildren, Alison Murphy, Christy, Beth Anne, Samanatha Murphy, Summer, Jeremy Dalton, Glenna, Katie, Melissa Houchin. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Grubb Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Lewis Weaver, with the interment to follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. PRILLAMAN, Melvin Aaron, 71, of Henry, died Saturday, April 6, 1996, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount. He was born August 22, 1924, son of the late Fred and Ida Jones Prillaman. He was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Leon Prillaman. Mr. Prillaman was retired from the Lester Group of Martinsville. Surviving are his wife, Mary Elizabeth Jones Prillaman of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Sammy K. and Mary Prillaman, Phillip and Sandy Prillaman, and Tim and Joan Prillaman, all of Henry; one daughter, Ann P. Cannaday of Henry; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jacqueline and Bobby Joe Whitlock of Ferrum, and Eunice and Woodrow Turner of Henry; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four nieces; one nephew, and a special friend, Edgar Holley of Henry. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, 1996, at Lynch Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Teems officiating. Burial will follow in Henry Memorial Park, Bassett. SCOTT, Margaret Ann Sheppard Lineberry, 90, of 275 Country Club Circle, Souther n Pines, N.C., and formerly of Pulaski, Va., passed away Friday, April 5, 1996, in the St. Joseph of the Pines Nursing Home, Southern Pines, N.C. Born on January 9, 1906, in Pulaski, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Sheppard and Sadie Smith Sheppard. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Daisy French and Laura Murphy, and three brothers, Archie Sheppard, Ray Sheppard and Allen Sheppard. She was a member of First Church of the Brethren in Pulaski. She is survived by three daughters, Jean Thompson, Lois Sullivan and Frances Clements of Southern Pines; one son, Len D. Lineberry Jr. of Southern Pines; 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. John Collins officiating. Entombment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Dublin. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski.

SINRAM, Arthur Frank, Jr., 56, of Moneta, passed away Saturday, April 6, 1996, in Lewis-Gale Hospital. He was born February 20, 1940, in Oceanside, N.Y., a son of the late Arthur Frank Sinram Sr. and Matilda Walz Amitrano. He was a retired employee of AT&T, and was a member and trustee of Radford Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Vivian DiRocco Sinram, and a son, Christopher Ryan Sinram of Moneta. Funeral services will be conduc ted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, 1996, from the Radford Baptist Church by the Rev. Vernon DeLong. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. STEVENS, Emma Elizabeth St.Clair, 73, of Vinton, passed away Friday, April 5, 1996, at her residence. She lost a long-fought battle with cancer, but has the victory in Jesus. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, J. Sherard Stevens; two sons and daughter-in-law, Roger Lee and Judy Marie Stevens, Hardy, Bennie Lewis Stevens, Vinton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy Gayle and Danny Ellis, Moneta, Vickie Cheryl and Terry Bowyer, Vinton; sister-in-law, Estelle St.Clair, Vinton; and a special sister-in-law, Carlie Woods, Vinton; grandchildren and spouses, Lindy Neel and Bobby Yates, Bo and Dana Stevens, Jeff and Kim Stevens, Angela and Jonathan McGuire, Jamie and Mike Chittum, Crystal Williams and Jessica Bowyer; step grandchildren and spouses, Steve and Penny Ellis, Joe and Tracy Walters; great-grandchildren, Lisa and Matthew Neel, Brett and Elizabeth Stevens, Bryan Chittum; stepgreat-grandchildren, Brittney and Courtney Ellis, Jamie Walters; a host of special sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
