CELEBRATIONS ENGAGEMENTS

Adams-Linkous

Amy Elizabeth Adams and Michael Ryan Linkous are engaged and planning to be married August 17, 1996, in Meansville, Ga. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ronald Adams of Meansville, Ga. Amy was graduated from Pike County High School, Zebulon, Ga., and from Emmanuel College, and she is attending Mercer University. Michael is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Barry Linkous, Salem, Va. He graduated from Glenvar High School, attended Emmanuel College, and is now attending Va. Tech. Family and friends are welcome.

Camper-Bumgarner

Mr. and Mrs. Kerry C. Camper of Troutville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Ellen, to Mr. Richard Carl Bumgarner.

Mr. Bumgarner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill B. Bumgarner of Roanoke.

A September 21, 1996 wedding is being planned.

Mr. and Mrs. William Robert Lee Craft, Jr., of Christiansburg, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Paul of Christiansburg, to Mr. John Barron Waugh of Raleigh, North Carolina, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Blair Waugh of Galax, Va. The marriage wil l take place on June 8, 1996, at the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church

Feury-Dooley

Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie L. Feury of Salem are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelby Lynn Feury, to Jeffrey Wayne Dooley

Miss Feury is a graduate of Virginia Western Community College and is employed by First Union. Mr. Dooley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde W. Dooley of Salem, is a graduate of Rice Aviation Aeronautical College and is employed by Raytheon Corporation.

The wedding is planned for September 21, 1996.

Graham-Minarik

Dr. and Mrs. Robert F. Graham of Radford, Virginia are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Suzanne Elaine, to Darren William Minarik, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Minarik of Chesterfield, Missouri.|

Miss Graham attended Radford High School and graduated from the University of Virginia. Mr. Minarik attended high school in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Auburn University where he received baccalaureate and masters degrees. Both are employed by the Close Up Foundation in Alexandria, Virginia.

A June wedding is planned.

Lanagan-McGraw

Sheryl Ann Lanagan and Ralph Douglas McGraw are engaged and planning to be married on Saturday, May 18, 1996. The spring wedding will take place at the Mountai n Valley Chapel in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Miss Lanagan is formerly from Spokane, Washington and is employed by Lewis-Gale Clinic in Salem. Mr. McGraw is from Roanoke and is self employed

Leonard-Shephard

Mrs. Robert J. Leonard of Nashville, Tennessee, announces the engagement of her daughter, Dr. Virginia Ellen Leonard, to Mr. R. Daniel Shephard, son of Mrs. Irene B. Shephard of Vinton, Virginia, and the late Mr. Robert J. (Jack) Shephard. Dr. Leonard is also the daughter of the late Col. Robert J. Leonard.

Dr. Leonard, a graduate of Waynesburg College, University of Pittsburgh and West Virginia University, is Professor of English at West Liberty State College. Mr. Shephard, a graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan College and Virginia Tech, formerly Director of Development at Linsly School, is presently Assistant Director of Planned Giving at the Florida State University Foundation, Tallahassee, Fla. A July wedding is planned.

Marshall-Dahlman

Mr. and Mrs. George H. Marshall of Boones Mill, Virginia, announc e the engagement of their daughter, Andrea Kelly of Cincinnati, Ohio, to Mr. Brian Jeffrey Dahlman of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

Miss Marshall is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is a Flight Attendant with Delta Airlines.

Mr. Dahlman is a Sales Representative with Cargill, Inc., of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Mitchell-Pomerleau

Leigh Anne Mitchell and Garry Pomerleau are engaged and planning to be married on June 22, 1996 in Rocky Mount, Va. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Leland Mitchell of Rocky Mount, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayborne Haynes and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walker Mitchell, both of Rocky Mount.. She graduated from Franklin County High School in 1992, and Peace College in Raleigh, N.C., and is a senior at Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C. She is majoring in Business Administration with a speciality in Marketing. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Real Pomerleau of Raleigh, N.C. He graduated from Cary High School, Cary, N.C., in 1988, and Wake Technical Community College with an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Sciences. He is employed by Cary Rescue Squad, Cary, N.C., as a Paramedic.

Reed-Smith

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen O. Reed of Riner are very pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Stephanie Leigh, to Robert P. Smith, Jr. of Radford.

Ms. Reed is a graduate of Auburn High School in Riner and is currently enrolled in the Salem School of Nursing and will graduate as an LPN in June '96. She plans to work in the New River Valley.

Mr. Smith is a graduate of Clover Hill High School in Chesterfield, Va,. and a graduate of Virginia Tech. He is employed by US Tobacco as a Consumer Marketing Representative.

Roberts-Gordon

Rev. and Mrs. Will and Jackie Roberts of Roanoke are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Tracy Michelle, to Steven Keith Gordon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff and Charlene Gordon, also of Roanoke. Tracy is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School. This May she will receive her Bachelor's degree in Youth Ministry from Eastern Nazarene College in Boston, Mass. Steve is a graduate of Cave Spring High School. He is currently attending Eastern Nazarene College pursuing a B.A.. in Religion. A July 13, 1996 wedding is planned.

South-Lloyd

Carissa E. South and David C. Lloyd are engaged and planning to be married May 18, 1996, in Roanoke. Carissa i s the daughter of Jean South Powell and the late Charles M. South, Roanoke. She graduated from Fieldale-Collinsville High School 1987 and graduated from James Madison University 1991. She is employed by Art Museum of Western Virginia. David is the son of Mrs. Patricia Lloyd Johnson of Roanoke. He graduated from Northside High School 1987 and attends Roanoke College

Turner-Cockrell

Mr. and Mrs. Claude E. Turner, of Galax, announce the engagement of their daughter, Noelle Elizabeth, to James Randall Cockrell, son of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Cockrell of Broadway, Virginia.

MIss Turner is a graduate of Pulaski County High School and received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is currently a teacher with Warren County Public Schools in Front Royal, Virginia.

Mr. Cockrell is a graduate of Broad Run High School in Ashburn, Virginia, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is currently employed by the federal government.

A June wedding is planned.

White-Paxton

Sally White and Marcus Paxton are engaged and planning to be married in November 1996, in Roanoke, Va. She is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edward White of Danville, Va. She graduated from George Washington High School and Roanoke, College, and is employed by First Virginia Bank Southwest. He is the son of Mr. Jim Paxton and Mrs. Gloria Higginbotham, of Lexington, Va. He graduated from Rockbridge High School and Longwood College, and is employed by Mohawk Credit Union.

Ewart-Ayers

Margaret Ann Ewa and Christopher Todd Ayers are engaged and planning to be married. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Ewart, Jr. or Roanoke. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School and attended Mars Hill College and Virginia Western Community College. She is employed by Business Coomunication Systems, Inc. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Merle E. Ayers of Roanoke. He graduated from patrick Henry High School and Hampden-Sydney College. He is employed by Unisource Worldwide.

Shabazz-Schultz

Michelle Anjail Shabazz and Dennis Darnell Schultz are engaged and planning to be married on May 25, 1996 in Radford. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude H. Shabazz of Radford. She was graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 1994 with a B.S. in Psychology and graduates from VPI & SU graduate program in Education on May 11, 1996. She is employed by New River Community College & Southwest Va. Transition Center. He is a son of Dennis and Ernestine Schultz of Virginia Beach. He was graduated from Kellam High School in Va. Beach and graduates from VPI & SU in May with a B.S. in Technology Education. He is employed by America Power Conversion Corporation in Rhode Island. The couple will reside in Rhode Island.|
