Barnett anniversary

Frank S. and Mildred E. Musselman Barnett celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on April 6th, 1996. They were married on April 5, 1946, at The Methodist Church in Christiansburg, Va. by the Rev. Tucker.

A 50th Anniversary Celebration was given by their children, Carol Wimmer, Shirley Tremble, Frank F. Barnett III, Judy Mount, Donna Sawyers and Joyce Woods, at the Shawsville High School Cafeteria.|

Frank and Mildred have 6 children, 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Frank is a veteran of WWII serving with the 24th Corp Motor Pool. Frank is currently retired as owner of B & M Motors and Mildred is currently employed at the Brookmeade Retirement Home.

Beekman 50th anniversary

Helen Cincebau and Douglas Beekman were married on April 6, 1946 in the Presbyterian Church in Bath, New York. They have a son, Paul and his wife, Connie, who live in Roanoke, Va. and a daughter, Pauline and her husband, William Hyer, who live in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia. They have four grandchildren, Shawn Hyer of Burlington, Vermont; Bobbi Jo Hyer and her husband, Dennis Desrochers of St. Johnsbury, Vermont; Douglas Beekman II of Virginia Tech; and Dustin Beekman of Randolph-Macon. In honor of this occasion, their loving family presented them with a 10 day vacation in Hawaii.

Chocklett anniversary

We are proud to announce the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Thomas (Bill) and Alma Conner Chocklett, married April 6th, 1946. They are the proud parents of 5 children, Wayne, Cheryl, Barbara, Susan and Phillip; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. They were honored with a dinner at the La-Maison, April 6th 1996.

Estill anniversary

Walter and Teresa Estill of Roanoke, Va., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 6, 1996. A reception was held in their honor by their daughter Sharon Lane and their son-in-law, Van Lane, at the Hunting Hills Golf and Country Club.

This was attended by their close friends, relatives and family. Mr. and Mrs. Estill were married on April 7, 1946, in Needham, Massachusetts. They have three granddaughters, Michelle, Lori and Evangeline.

Mr. Estill is a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II having served in the North Atlantic. Best wishes for a happy anniversary

Garraghty anniversary

Harry and Margaret Mills Garraghty of Montvale, Va., celebrated their 50th anniversary on April 6, 1996. Mr. Garraghty is retired from Burlington Industries, Vinton Weaving Plant, and Mrs. Garraght y is a homemaker. Both are members of Montvale Baptist Church. Family and friends extend congratulations and a prayer that God will continue to bless them and their marriage

Pugh anniversary

Carl and Ruby Pugh of Salem celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 6, 1996. In honor of the occasion, a luncheon was held at the Hotel Roanoke for their immediate family. The reception was hosted by their sons, Carl Jr. and Archie, their daughters-in-law, Debbie and Carrie Ann and their grandsons, Josh and Luke. Carl retired from the Norfolk & Southern Railway in 1985 after 39 years of service. Ruby worked for the hosiery mill in Salem and later focused her attention to raising their children. They are both members of Bethel Baptist Church. The family would like to thank everyone who made this occasion a very special day.

Webb anniversary

Harry Thomas and Mildred I. Webb will celebrate their 50th anniversary. They were married April 10, 1946, in El Paso, Texas. They five daughters and five sons-in-law, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren

Wood Anniversary

Ruel Mauyer Wood and geneva Carter Wood celebrated their 50th anniversay on April 6, 1996. The celebration was held at Waverly Place Baptist Church hosted by their four children. The couple was married April 6, 1946 in Roanoke, by the Rev. C. Trammell. They are formerly of Roanoke and have lived in Vinton for 13 years. She's the former Geneva Carter. Their children are Brenda of N.C.; Alisa of Tenn.; Donald of Salem; and Randal of Ronaoke.. They have eight grandchildren. He is retired form Roanoke Post Office and Sovren Bank. She is retired from Sears. He belongs to melrose Masonic Lodge and the American Legion Post 3. She is active in her church organizations and they have been members of Wavery for over 40 years.
