Cold weather and rain delayed two planned highlights of the past weekend: the International Street Fair in downtown Blacksburg and the kickoff of the New River Valley Speedway's season in Dublin.
The street fair has been rescheduled for Sunday. Called a celebration of cultural unity and pride, the fair offers traditional music and food from other countries. The fair will be held on College Avenue and Draper Road from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Meanwhile, in Dublin the speedway will open its season Saturday with a double-points race, the FM 94/Ginger's Jewelry 200. This weekend's racing will include the Enduro class and kid's foot races, beginning at 7 p.m., in addition to the Late Model Stock, Limited Sportsman, Mini Stock and Pure Stock classes.
The original season opener canceled because of bad weather, the Eagle Country PSK/Pizza Den 100, will be rescheduled for a later date.
