ASHLEY, Frank Edwin, 76, of 4320 Price's Fork Road, Blacksburg, died Tuesday afternoon, April 9, 1996, in Montgomery Regional Hospital. Born in Fayette County, W.Va. on March 20, 1920, he was the son of the late Lovell M. and Nova Sevy Ashley. He was employed as a property specialist in the Accounting Department at Radford Army Ammunition Plant, where he retired in 1982 with 35 years of service. Mr. Ashley was a veteran of the United States Army in which he served during World War II. For many years he was a member of the Price's Fork United Methodist Church and the Price's Fork Grange #786. Mr. Ashley was also a member of the Hunter's Masonic Lodge No. 156, A.F. & A.M., Blacksburg, the Blacksburg Royal Arch Chapter No. 65, and the Kazim Temple A.A.O.N.M.S., Roanoke. During his retirement years Mr. Ashley served on the Montgomery County Board of Zoning Appeals and the Board of Equalization. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 38 years, Ruth Smith Ashley; and a sister and brother-in-law, Leona A. and James Bayes. Surviving are his wife, Irene B. Ashley; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Lowell E. Ashley, Christiansburg, David R. Ashley, and Kenneth E. and Jean T. Ashley, all of Roanoke; one daughter and son-in-law, Loretta A. and James E. Foster, Pensacola, Fla.; one sister and brother-in-law, Anna A. and Richard H. Stewart, Spotsylvania; three brothers and sist ers-in-law, Harvey C. Ashley, Hico, W.Va., John R. and Jean Ashley, Dorset, Ohio, and James M. and Virginia G. Ashley, Spotsylvania; two grandsons, Kenneth Gregory and Jason A. Ashley, both of Roanoke; one great-grandson; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 12, 1996, 2 p.m., at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jacob Mayer officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. BOOTH, Edith V., 75, of Millboro, died Tuesday, April 9, 1996 in Bath County Community Hospital, Hot Springs, Va. Born July 17, 1920 at Bluff City, Va. a daughter of the late George William Kast and Cindy Annebell Sanders Kast. She was an employee of Staunton Manor Nursing Home as a Nurses Aide, then worked for The Bath County Hospital in the Food Service. She was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church and of Green Valley Free Methodist Church, and a former member of Country Neighbors Band. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clay Booth Sr. and a daughter, Wanda Jeanett Booth. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Sue Riley, Millboro; sons, Phillip Booth Sr., Deerfield, Darrell E. Booth, Millboro, William C. Booth Jr., Craigsville; brother, Luther Kast, Ripplemead; 21 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 1996 at McLaughlin Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gram officiating. BROWN, Frances McCorkindale, 74, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, April 9, 1996. She was the widow of Howard W. Brown Jr. and was preceded in death by a brother, William McCorkindale. CREASEY, Lula Blanche, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday evening, April 9, 1996. She was born May 6, 1904, in Bedford to the late Zada and Hubert Fariss. She attended school in Bedford and worked at Shenandoah Hospital in Roanoke before retiring. Lula was an active member of Huntington Court Methodist Church in Roanoke for many years. She was a charter member of both the Dig and Dream Garden Club and the Williamson Road Eastern Star, serving in various positions. Lula Creasey was preceded in death by her husband, Roy David Creasey. She is survived by a son, Roy Melvin Creasey and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Nancy B. Creasey of Richmond; and a daughter, Dr. Peggy C. Littrell and son-in-law, Mr. Bill Littrell of Salem. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Karen L. Walters of Salem, Stacy L. Neiley of Blacksburg, Carol C. Allen and Mike D. Creasey, both of Richmond; and two great-grandchildren, Nicholaus Creasey and Rachael Creasey of Richmond. She is also survived by a sister, Katherine Wingo of Roanoke; four brothers, Raymond Fariss, Wilton Fariss, West Fariss, all of Bedford, and Frank Fariss of Suffolk; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the nursing staff at ``Our Lady of the Valley Retirement Home'' for their loving and gracious care of our mother and grandmother through her illness. DAVIS, Henry Keith, 66, of Salem, died Tuesday, April 9, 1996, in a Salem hospital. He was retired from General Electric in Salem. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Fanning Davis; a son and daughter-in-law, Henry Keith Jr. and Katherine Davis, Dahlonega, Ga.; one daughter, Darlene D. Deyerle, Roanoke; one sister, Eleanor Atwell, Bland; two grandsons, Thomas Davis and Brandon Davis; several nieces and nephews. FOX, Raymond Wilson, (``Tamie''), 74, of Buena Vista, died Tuesday, April 9, 1996, at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Born November 29, 1921 in Buena Vista, he was the son of the late Alfred James and Sally Shafer Fox. He was retired from Burlington In dustries after 40 year's service. He is survived by his wife, Helen Truslow Fox, Buena Vista; two sisters, Glenna F. Nicely and Patsy F. Staton, both of Buena Vista; two brothers, Elwood Fox, Salem, and Norman Fox, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Polomski; and a brother, James Fox. GOODWIN, George Leonard, (``Chafe''), 81, of Montvale, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 1996, in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born May 7, 1914, in Botetourt County, a son of the late James Albert Goodwin and Patricia Ann Newcomb Goodwin. He resided in Goose Creek Valley for more than 67 years as a farmer, school bus driver in Bedford County, and was employed by the Blue Ridge Parkway for 16 years, retiring in 1983. He was a World War II Army veteran, and was a member of the Walnut Grove Union Church. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris Fizer Goodwin; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara G. and Benjamin F. Holstein Jr., Christiansburg; a brother, Fred Goodwin, Covington; three grandsons, Michael Gordon, Wakefield, Mark Gordon and his wife, Cathy, Centerville, Milan Gordon, Lewiston, Mich.; a granddaughter, Kristen Holstein, Christiansburg; a special granddaughter, Linda McDaniel and her husband, Ted, Winchester; five great-grandchildren, Sherry Gordon, Caty Gordon, Chelsey Gordon, all of Centerville, Michelle McDaniel, Morgan McDaniel, both of Winchester; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 11, 1996, at 2 p.m. from the Walnut Grove Union Church, by the Rev. Elmer Sellers. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. MITCHELL, Gordon Thomas, 73, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 1996. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as Assistant Insurance Director. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Medical Corps. Following the war, he served as Civilian Director of the Urology Clinic at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Mitchell; sons and daughters-in-law, Lt. Col. Richard S. and Anne O. Mitchell, Kim T. Mitchell, Drew H. and Jacqueline C. Mitchell, Joel T. and Grace E.
