PICNIC AT POPS CONCERT SUNDAY

What is more delightful than a spring picnic? A picnic with great music, perhaps.

Enjoy the sounds of the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jim Glazebrook, as they present a cabaret-style concert of light classics Sunday at Virginia Tech. Bring your own picnic or enjoy food from several local restaurants. Wine and beer also will be available.

The concert features music from around the world including Sullivan's Overture to Mikado, Beethoven's Turkish March, Strauss' Tales of the Vienna Woods, Ibert's Impressions of Paris, Brahms' Hungarian Dance, Grieg's Norwegian Dance and Dvorak's Slavonic Dance.

Doors open at 5 p.m., food service starts at 5:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 6:15 p.m. in the Commonwealth Ballroom at Squires Student Center.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children and may be purchased at the Virginia Tech Music Department, Mainstream Morrell Music, Blacksburg; Volume Two Bookstore, Blacksburg; First National Bank, Radford and at the door. Call 552-3779 or 552-5421.
