NUCKOLS, Lewis Edward, 78, of Glasgow, died Friday, April 12, 1996 at Shenandoah Valley Health Care Facility, Buena Vista. Born in Rockbridge County June 19, 1917, he was the son of the late William A. and Eva Nuckols. He was retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church and the Glasgow Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Odell Nuckols. Surviving are three daughters, Carol D. Reed, Glasgow, Georgie L. Heyman, Stockbridge, Ga., Shirley A. Wolf, Carrsville; brothers and sisters-in-law, William R. and Hilda Nuckols, Buena Vista, Richard T. and Naomi Nuckols, Fairfield; sister-in-law, Ossie Branblett, Buchanan; brother-in-law, James Marshall Thomas, Richmond; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 15, 1996 at 11 a.m. from the Glasgow Baptist Church with the Rev. William A. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial contributions to Glasgow First Aid or Glasgow Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. sunday afternoon at Harrison Funeral Home.

SHARP, Florence G., 64, of Palm Harbor, Fla., passed away Thursday, April 11, 1996, in the Community Hospital of the Roanoke Valley. She was born December 18, 1931 in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of the late Edward Gardiner and Ellen Florence Olander Gardiner. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Sharp. She was a member of the Highland Lakes Women's Club, The Yacht Club of Highland Lakes, and was an avid golfer. She is survived by her husband, Ronald F. Sharp; two sons, Robert Sharp, Atlanta, Ga., Bruce Sharp, East Northport, N.Y.; two daughters, Melody Meier, Blue Ridge, Elizabeth Sharp, Astoria, N.Y.; two brothers, Richard Gardiner, New York, N.Y., Edwin Gardiner, Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Lillian Peltier, Palm Harbor, Fla.; five grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, April 13, 1996, at 3 p.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, by the Rev. Robert J. Maier.
SHELOR, Billy Oliver, 62, of Salem, went to be with the Lord, Friday, April 12, 1996, where he will have no more suffering and pain. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Mr. Shelor worked at Rutledge Paint & Body Shop for 45 years and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Surviving are his loving and faithful wife of 42 years, Patricia R. Shelor; sons and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cindy Shelor, Salem, Alan Shelor, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bob Felton, Houston, Texas, Debra and Rodney Barbour, Salem; grandchildren, Jessica Barbour, Laura Felton, Jonathan Shelor, Drew Barbour, Quintin Felton, Ryan Shelor, Charles Alan Felton; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Ralph Holloway, Vinton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Al and Vanda Shelor, Dayton, Ohio, Leo and Olivia Shelor, Virginia Beach; special aunt, Robbie Bratton, Salem; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Madeline and Jesse Rutledge, Salem. For those preferring to make memorial contributions, the family suggests making them to a favorite charity. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday at Oakey's North Chapel by the Rev. Lew Bennett and Dr. B. Conrad Johnston. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Taylor, San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Mary T. Yates, Roanoke; four grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Russell C. Etter, Albert O. Etter, both of Roanoke, Lewis Etter, Friendly, Md. TERRELL, Lewis N., 82, of Roanoke, died Friday morning, April 12, 1996. He was retired from National Cash Register Co. after 42 years service. He was a long-time faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church and w as a 32 Degree Mason and a member of Kazim Temple. Surviving are his wife, Betty Urquhart Terrell, Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and David McCarty, Rocky Mount; son and daughter-in-law, Lewis N., Jr. and Judy M. Terrell, Lexington, N.C.; sister, Dorothy T. Black, Roanoke; three grandsons, Paul S. McCarty, Wesley D. McCarty, L. Neil Terrell, III. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 1:30 p.m. Monday, by the Reverend David R. Tanner. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park. VADEN, Kenneth Wayne, 38, of Roanoke County, died Thursday, April 11, 1996, from the result of an automobile accident. He was the owner and operator of Vaden Landscaping. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles William Vaden. He is survived by his wife, Jana McGuire Vaden; a son, Kenneth William Vaden; his mother, Ruby Martin Vaden, Salem; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky Lee and Brenda Vaden, Rocky Mount, Richard R. and Amanda Vaden, Cloverdale; a sister and brother-in-law, Andrus and Dan Boothe, Roanoke; his mother and father-in-law, William and Nellyce McGuire, Roanoke; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 13, 1996, 12 noon, at Sherwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Kenneth Butterworth officiating. Arrangements by Lotz Salem Chapel.
WERTZ, Earl L., 80, of Poinciana, Fla., formerly of Salem, died Friday, April 12, 1996. He is survived by his wife, Elsie; three daughters, including, Barbara Cochran of Salem; and one son; also sisters, Elizabeth Terry, Maybell Walker, Dorothy Smith; and brother, Fred Wertz.
WOODAHL, Bernard W., 80, of Richmond, widower of Gayle Camden Woodahl, died Thursday, April 11, 1996, after a long illness. Mr.. Woodahl retired as Executive Vice President of the Virginia Division of the American Cancer Society in 1980. A native of Roanoke, Mr. Woodahl was the son of the late D. G. Woodahl and the late Mattie Woodahl James. Mr. Woodahl is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ann W. Long and Stephen C. Long; his son and daughter-in-law, John C. and Susan C. Woodahl; three granddaughters, Hillary C. Long, Jessica R. and Emily G. Woodahl, all of Midlothian. Mr. Woodahl is survived by three sisters, Correlle Venable, Inez Painter, and Evelyn Riley of Roanoke; and a brother, Lester Woodahl of Shawsville. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 15, 1996, at The First Unitarian Church, 1000 Blanton Ave., Richmond. WRIGHT, J. Clayton, 47, of Rt. 3, New Castle, died Friday, April 12, 1996, in a Roanoke hospital. He is survived by his wife, Robyn Jones Wright; one daughter, Marlena Wright; his mother, Alice Sue Jones; one brother, Randy Jones; four sisters, Dianne Stevens, Dreama Stanley, Stacey Jones, all of New Castle, Donna Giebner, North Carolina. Funeral services will be Sunday 2 p.m. at Boitnott Chapel, with interment in Huffman Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
