TURQUOISE CRAFTS STOLEN AT MALL

Turquoise objects worth about $9,000 were stolen over the weekend from an arts and crafts exhibit at Tanglewood Mall.

Ronald Coe, one of more than 20 exhibitors in the traveling show, said Sunday that someone either broke into the mall or hid in the mall when it closed Friday night. Coe said the turquoise objects were missing when he returned Saturday morning.

But Judy Tullius, manager of Tanglewood Mall, said the theft could have happened while the mall was open to the public.

She said Coe reported leaving at 9:10 p.m. Friday, but the mall didn't shut its doors until 10.

Coe returned to his exhibit at 10 a.m. Saturday, she said, but the mall opens at 5:45 a.m. every day for people who want to walk indoors.

Tullius said the theft is under investigation.
