BOXLEY, Georgin e Hunt, 81, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, April 13, 1996. She was the widow of Charles A. Boxley Sr. Mrs. Boxley retired as a secretary with Roanoke County. She was a member of Northview United Methodist Church and the Thursday Morning Music Club. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, C.A. Jr. and Irene Boxley, Buxton, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca B. and William Booth, Georgetown, Texas, Patricia B. and Wayne Wertz, Troutville; grandchildren, Kirk B. Whitmore, Kelly B. Macey both of Richmond, Paige B. Baker, W. Marshall Booth both of Austin, Texas, Weston W. Wertz, Brandye L. Wertz both of Troutville; sister, Louella H. BROWN, Nannie Elizabeth Pasley, 84, of Rocky Mount, died Saturday, April 13, 1996 at Elder Care of Franklin Co. Born September 20, 1911 a daughter of the late Samuel R. and Cora English Pasley. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Grover F. Brown; three daughters, Shelby B. Witt, Elene Elizabeth Brown, Janice Lee Brown; one son, Harold Arnett Brown; two brothers, Charlie E. CADD, Arthur M., (``Auty""), 71, of Vinton, passed away Sunday, April 14, 1996 at Berkshire Nursing Home. He was born April 25, 1924 in Vinton the son of the late Roma and Sadie Cadd. He retired from the Vinton Weaving Mill and had been a resident of Clearview Manor for several years. He was a dedicated and active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for the past 19 years. He was preceded in death by several brothers and a sister. Surviving are a sister, Evelyn Clemons, Vinton; devoted niece and nephew, Sandy and Barry Ousley, Roanoke; sisters-in-law, Julia Cadd, Vinton, Madaleine Cadd, Roanoke; brother-in-law, Carroll ``Barney"" Bartlett, Roanoke; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 1996 with the Rev. Kevin Meadows, the Rev. David Elks, and the Rev. William E. Hungate officiating. CAMPBELL, Carrington Eugene, (``Smokey""), 70, of Roanoke, died Saturday, April 13, 1996. He was retired from the N & W Railroad with 25 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis M. Campbell, Roanoke; one daughte r and son-in-law, Barbara and Ed Cooper, Ashland; two sons and one daughter-in-law, David and Sheila Campbell, Troutville, James Wesley Campbell, Grundy; one grandson, David Campbell II; five granddaughters, Julie Campbell, Karle Cooper, Morgan Cooper, Sarah Cooper, Nancy Cooper; one brother and sister-in-law, Arthur W. and Evelyn M. HAYNES, Lake Smith, 77, of Dugspur, died Saturday, April 13, 1996 at Laurel Meadows Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Fred Smith and Essie Marshall Smith. She is survived by three sisters, Mazie Smith, Dugspur, Isabell Thompson, Hillsville, and Ruth Nelson, Lorton; one sister-in-law, Freda Swift, Mountain Park, N.C.; one brother, Levi Smith, Dugspur. She was a graduate of Radford Teacher College and also attended Appalachian State University. She earned a B.S. Degree in English and History. She spent most of her 42 years of teaching at Elkin High School, Elkin, N.C. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 1996 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, State Road, N.C. with the Rev. John D. Attaway III officiating. Interment will be in Mountain Park Cemetery, Mountain Park, N.C. JONES, Ellis, (``Black Eye""), 92, of Speedwell, died Saturday, April 13, 1996 in Malin's Health Care Center. He was retired from Hercules in Radford, Va. He was the son of the late Robert G. and Viola Spencer Jones and was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Caudill Jones. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte A. and Charles Walls of Quitman, Texas, Joyce J. and Jim Trivett of Wytheville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Garnett R. and Audrey Jones of Wytheville, Edward F. and Katie Jones of Roanoke, Gary S. and Bonita Jones of Rural Retreat; one brother, Eldridge ``Blue Eyes"" Jones of Pennsville, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 1996 in the Speedwell United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Patricia Edwards and the Rev. LIPSCOMBE, Virginia Burks, 93, of Roanoke, died Saturday, April 13, 1996. She was the widow of Robert C. Lipscombe Sr. Mrs. Lipscombe had been associated with Adam, Payne and Gleeves as a bookkeeper prior to becoming a homemaker. Surviving are her son, Robert C. Lipscombe Jr., and a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia L. (``Ginger"") and Neal G. Hale, all of Roanoke; a brother, Clayborne H. Seay of Ewing, Ky., and a special, devoted granddaughter, Lara Hale Bingeman and husband Ge rry of Roanoke. Services will be at Oakey's South Chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 1996. The Rev. LOVE, Mary Elizabeth Brown, 94, of Rocky Mount, died Sunday, April 14, 1996, in the Franklin Health Care Center. Born on January 20, 1902, in Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Milton and Emma Mason Brown. Mrs. Love was preceded in death by her husband, George Cabell Love; one daughter, Edith Gray Love, and two sons, Kyle Love and Herbert Love. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Chris Love of Rocky Mount, and Georgia and Bob Firebaugh of Salem; five sons and daughters-in-law, Harry and Ethel Love, Floyd Love, Randy and Fatena Love of Rocky Mount, Doug and Coralea Love of Collinsville and Carlton and Linda Love of Ridgeway; two daughters-in-law, Charlotte Love and Thelma Love of Collinsville; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Hazel Brown of Rocky Mount, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Evangel Foursquare Church and was a retired secretary with the Virginia State Department of Highways. Surviving are one sister, Jo M. He was an employee of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salem for the past 30 years. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas L. Sayers Sr. Surviving are his wife, Alice Faye Wheeling Sayers; childre n, Sheila Sayers of Hollywood, Fla., Jeff and Anita Sayers of Roanoke and Chad Sayers of the home; his mother, June Marie Sayers of Roanoke; one brother, Michael Sayers of Moneta; one sister, Bonnie Stanley of Roanoke, and two grandchildren, Megan Sayers and Shane Burnett. SMITH, Rev. Milton K., 65, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, April 13, 1996. He was a son of the late Albert S. and Gretchen Bragg Smith, formerly of Dothan, W.Va. He was a retired minister of the Church of God and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Smith and two brothers, Ernest D. Smith and Shelvon A. Smith. Surviving are his wife, Rosemary K. Smith, Roanoke; four daughters, Linda G. Skrypek, Moundsville, W.Va., Teresa L. Gill, Tridelphia, W.Va., Sandra L. Buchner, Belair, Ohio and Jacqueline L. Smith, Roanoke; two sisters, Lillian Smith Coleman, Fort Myers, Fla. and Wilma Smith Toney, Scarbro, W.Va.; and a brother, Edgar R. Smith, Gettysburg, Penn. STAMPER, Coy Lee, 71, of Hardy, passed away Saturday, April 13, 1996. He was retired from Miller Container Corporation and was a World War II veteran having served with the U.S. Army. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife, Lois Nunley Stamper; one son, Roger Stamper, Hardy; two daughters, Peggy Bishop, Hardy, Carolyn Casto, Abingdon; two brothers, James Stamper and Marvin Stamper both of Chilhowie; two sisters, Ruby Callahan, Roanoke, Ola Coffey, Tampa, Fla.; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.
