Michael McIntosh, principal of Roanoke's school for troubled youth, was back on the school system payroll Monday. An assault and battery charge against him was dismissed Friday in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
School Superintendent Wayne Harris said McIntosh will remain with city schools, but the two men will meet this week to discuss McIntosh's assignment. Harris would not say whether McIntosh might be assigned a new job.
McIntosh, principal at Noel C. Taylor Learning Academy for two years, was suspended March 15 after he was charged with slapping a student.
McIntosh testified he did not strike the 15-year-old, though the alleged victim, two other students and a teacher contradicted him.
Judge John Ferguson said he was not convinced of McIntosh's guilt after hearing the testimony.
