Clarification

A photograph on the cover of the April 4 New River Current showed a dog swimming in Pandapas Pond. This is against the law, according to the U.S. Forest Service. A person with an unleashed dog in the Forest Service recreation area can be cited for a petty offense, according to Brian Altizer, law enforcement officer with the Blacksburg Ranger District. A petty offense carries a minimum fine of $25 and a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $5,000 fine.

Corrections

A rally outside Virginia Tech's Squires Student Center for Patrick Muldoon, a contender for the 9th District Republican nomination to run for Congress, will be held at 5 p.m. today. A brief in Tuesday's New River Current gave an incorrect date for the event.

The Annual Mudbass Classic Carp Fishing Tournament will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Virginia Tech Duck Pond. The wrong location and time appeared in Sunday's New River Current.
