MANSLAUGHTER CONVICTION BRINGS 5 YEARS

A Pulaski man indicted on murder charges in February for the beating death of a man he believed had assaulted his children, entered a plea agreement in Pulaski County Circuit Court last month to a reduced charge of voluntary manslaughter.

Enoch S. "Buck" Dunagan of Sutphin Circle was sentenced to 10 years in prison with five suspended and five years probation, according to a court clerk. He will have five years to serve.

Dunagan went to a neighbor's house in January to find Terry Kenneth Morris, 48. Dunagan's wife had alleged that Morris assaulted two of the Dunagans' children.

It was then that authorities said Dunagan fought with Morris. While the fight did not involve weapons, the fight was characterized at the time as "very violent" by Pulaski Police Commander Ed Hogston. Morris died of head injuries several weeks after the fight.
