CHRISTIANSBURG - The Christiansburg High School Drama Department will present its spring show Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. The production, "Faces of Love," is a compilation of material focusing on love in its many phases. Tickets are $3. The program will be in the auditorium.
ABWA celebration
BLACKSBURG - The New River charter chapter of the American Business Women's Association is hosting its 18th anniversary celebration today at 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn to highlight business associates and co-workers.
All non-active ABWA members and other interested women are invited to attend this and other monthly meetings.
Virginia Tech Professor of Education Dr. Carl McDaniels will speak on "Humor in the Workplace" at 7:30 p.m.

Real World Day at Tech
BLACKSBURG - New River Community College and the Southwest Virginia Transition Center at Virginia Tech will co-sponsor Real World Day Friday at the Virginia Tech campus. The event will provide transition options available to high school students with disabilities.
Activities are planned from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Old Dominion Ballroom at Squires Student Center. Representatives from educational institutions, supporting- and adult-service agencies, recreational departments and other will be at the event to provide information about available programs and services. Virginia Tech athletes also will be present to sign autographs.
Participants also will have the opportunity to meet and talk with secondary students with disabilities and their families, special educators, guidance counselors and principals. Featured activities include panel discussions, videos and workshops on topics such as how to land a job, interviewing tips, school to work and differences between high school and colleges.

Lyric anniversary
BLACKSBURG - The Lyric Theatre will show the 1930 classic "All Quiet on the Western Front" Friday and Saturday to celebrate the 66th anniversary of its opening.
Viewers are invited to have birthday cake to commemorate the theatre's opening.
Both nights the film will start at 7:30 p.m. and admission is $3.

Recital rescheduled
BLACKSBURG - A studio recital by Mary Louise Hallauer's piano students originally scheduled for Wednesday has been rescheduled. The new date is Wednesday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. in Virginia Tech's Squires Recital Salon.

PEMBROKE - Artists, craftspeople, musicians, churches and food vendors are needed to participate in the second annual Awesome Arts Fest, a day-long festival celebrating the arts for children and the community.
The festival will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The application deadline is Saturday, April 27.

Education grant
DUBLIN - New River Community college received the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology Education Act grant allowing the college to continue its Regional Center for Single Parents, Displaced Homemakers and Single Pregnant Women.
The center gives financial assistance to qualifying students for school fees, child care and transportation. It also offers programs in child care, parenting skills, study skills and other topics.

ABINGDON - BusinesStart of People, Incorporated of Southwest Virginia and the Small Business Development Centers are hosting "Discovering Ways to Be Successful in Business" Monday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Virginia Highlands Community College Learning Resource Center.

State parks guide
RICHMOND - Virginia State Parks will offer a wider range of diverse and reasonably priced programs and activities for the whole family.
